goodbye, old friend

Durham was sick in a way we couldn't cure.
This morning we let him go.
We put him to sleep; to rest.
Because of him, my son will always love dogs the way I do.
Thank you, Goosey. I miss you already.

A force of nature. A gentle soul. A constant companion. A guardian angel. An always grateful friend for you having taken him from a life of pain and degradation to a member of a loving family. He watched over you and brought you joy. You watched over him and brought him joy and comfort. He had a great life once he came to live with you and showed it in oh so many ways. You eased his pain. His spirit will always watch over the family.

Lindsey + Garin + Stone,

I was just checking in on Stone's latest pictures and stories when I noticed the beautiful photo of Durham. I'm very sorry you had to let him go and know you will miss him dearly.

It was great to know you, buddy. I'll always think of you with a smile. Thanks for watching over us, and continuing to watch us from wherever you are.

Hey Kids,
I was just looking in to see how Stone is GROWING and noticed this post about Durham - OMG - I am so sad to hear this. The heartache of having to say goodbye to your dog is such an unbearable sadness. The good news is that she gave you so many laughs and hugs and you gave her so many belly rubs. Hopefully Durham and Shayna have found each other in the afterlife and are playing on the beach together right now.
Big hugs from your Aunties.
